Descriptions

One sentence

SkyDeck is an iOS app that reads your Bluesky history — when each follower arrived, how every post did, and who actually engages with you — and puts it in order.

One paragraph

SkyDeck is an analytics app for Bluesky, built for people who post often enough that they have stopped being able to tell from memory what is working. It reads your account's own history through the AT Protocol — follow dates, posts and their engagement, who replies and reposts — and turns it into growth curves, ranked posts and dated lists. Unlike the web tools in this category it is a native iOS app that keeps everything in a local database on the device, with home screen widgets and no account to create. It is free; a $2.99-a-month subscription unlocks past-period rankings, the full engagement leaderboard and multiple accounts.

The longer version

Bluesky shows you numbers but no history. Your profile has a follower count and each post has four engagement figures, all as they stand right now. When one changes, the previous value is not anywhere you can reach in the app. For anyone posting regularly, that makes it impossible to answer simple questions: is this growing, which posts did the work, who is actually reading.

The information mostly exists. The AT Protocol is built out of dated records — a follow carries the date it happened, posts keep their counts, likes and reposts arrive as timestamped notifications. Nothing in the Bluesky app assembles it. SkyDeck reads that history on the first sync and orders it, so most of an account is legible immediately rather than after weeks of watching.

The one genuine exception is unfollows. Unfollowing deletes the follow record, and an absence cannot be read back, so departures can only be detected by comparing one sync to the next. That list therefore starts when the app is installed — for every tool in this category, not just this one. SkyDeck says so on screen rather than implying a completeness it does not have.

It is deliberately a native app rather than a web dashboard. The history lives in a local database on the device, which means no account to create, nothing of the user's social graph sitting on a server, and widgets that put the numbers on the home screen. The trade is real and stated plainly: there is no web version, and the data moves with the device backup.

SkyDeck does not schedule posts, automate follows, or report reach. The public AT Protocol API exposes no impression data, so any figure for views or reach would be an estimate; the app reports only the four engagement counts that actually exist.

Features

  • A follower growth curve built from the date each person actually followed, not from a counter the app starts keeping.
  • Daily new-follower charts for the last 7 and 30 days, with every follower listed by the day they arrived.
  • A dated list of unfollows, showing when each person followed and when they left, plus the average tenure across everyone who has gone.
  • Post rankings for the current week, month or year, and all time, with likes, replies, reposts and quotes listed separately. Ranking past periods needs Pro.
  • A leaderboard of the accounts that engage most, weighting replies and mentions above likes. The top 15 are free; the full ranking needs Pro.
  • A posting heatmap covering months of activity in one scrolling grid.
  • Emoji statistics: which emoji you actually reach for, and how often.
  • Four home screen widgets — profile stats, posting activity, your top post, and the latest post from a feed — each tied to an account you pick. Profile stats also works as a lock screen widget. More than one account needs Pro.
  • Siri and Shortcuts: ask for a follower count without opening the app. The shortcuts also surface in Spotlight.
  • Sign-in over OAuth or an app password, including accounts on any custom Personal Data Server.
  • Full light and dark appearance support, following the system setting.

About the developer

SkyDeck is made by Michael Freiwald, an independent developer based in Germany, working alone. He also makes Remark: Markdown Comments, a Mac app. SkyDeck has been on the App Store since March 2025 and is updated regularly.

Screenshots

Straight off the device at 1206 × 2622, unframed, with no captions, no backdrop and no baked-in corner rounding — a full rectangle you can crop or frame yourself. Both appearances of every screen, with demo data rather than a real account. The archive also has each one composed into an iPhone frame on a transparent background, if you would rather not do the framing. Note that the engagement screen shows the Pro view: on the free tier, ranks beyond the second are blurred.

App icon

PNG. The dark variants are the ones the app itself ships for dark appearance — not a recolour.

Square

The App Store master: full square, no rounding. Use this if you are placing it on your own background.

Rounded

Same artwork with the iOS corner shape applied and transparent corners. Drops straight into a layout.

Using these

Every asset on this page may be used in articles, reviews, videos and newsletters about SkyDeck, without asking first. Please do not alter the app icon or crop screenshots in a way that changes what they show. The App Store badge is Apple's and is governed byApple's marketing guidelines, not by me.
