Does Bluesky have analytics?

The short answer

Bluesky ships no analytics dashboard. As of August 2026 that is still true, and it is the reason a whole category of third-party tools exists.

What Bluesky does show you

• Likes, reposts, replies and quotes, per post
• Follower, following and post counts on your profile
• Your notifications, until you scroll past them

That is the complete list. Each of those is a number as it stands right now. When it changes, the previous value is not stored anywhere you can reach.

What the app does not show you

• Any history or trend — no chart, no daily breakdown, no export
• Who unfollowed you, or when
• Which posts performed best over a period
• Who engages with you most
• When your audience is active

What nobody can show you

Views, impressions and reach are not available on Bluesky. The public AT Protocol API exposes no impression data, so there is nothing for a third-party tool to read. A request to add a view count has been open on Bluesky's own repository since October 2025 (issue 9145).

This matters when comparing tools. A dashboard showing you a reach figure for a Bluesky post has estimated it from the engagement counts and the follower graph. That can be a reasonable guess, but it is a guess, and it is worth knowing which numbers on a screen are measured and which are modelled. SkyDeck reports only the four that are real.

What the protocol does keep

This is the part the question usually misses. Bluesky the app shows you no history, but the AT Protocol underneath is built out of dated records, and most of what you would want is in there:

• A follow is a record with a date, so when each person followed you is knowable
• Your posts are records, so your whole back catalogue and its counts can be read
• Likes, reposts, quotes and mentions arrive as dated notifications

So a tool does not have to start from zero and watch you for a month. It can read your history and put it in order — which is what SkyDeck does on the first sync.

What genuinely cannot be recovered

Unfollows. Unfollowing deletes the follow record, and an absence cannot be read. The deletion travelled over the network when it happened, so something listening continuously could have caught it, but no app can go back and ask. That one list therefore starts when a tool starts watching — for every tool, not just this one.

Where tools differ is what happens to what they read. SkyDeck keeps it on your iPhone in a local database rather than on a server: no account to create, nothing of yours in someone else's system, and no web dashboard.

If you would rather not install anything

Entirely reasonable. Bluesky is legible enough by hand for most people — read your replies, notice which posts got picked up, and move on. Analytics earn their keep when you post often enough that the pattern stops being visible from memory.
